Today is Pi day of the century for Americans. 3.14.15.
Tau day of the century will be 6.28.31. But for the rest of use we need to wait until 2041 or 2083! (3.1.41 and 6.2.83) |

At least their dates have a good reason.
Why the day should come before the month -- now that is farfetched. Years first -- if that floats your boat. |

Well, day-month-year is a logical order (short to long), as is year-month-day (long to short). Month-day-year doesn't make any sense at all.

But the First Jewish Tau day comes up much sooner. The 8th day of Nissan (first Month) 6283 will be on 25 March 2523. Which is a curious co-incidence, since the Christian new year used to be on 25th March.
The next Julian day Tau day (Julian day 6283185) will be on 3 September 12,490. The last Islamic Tau day was 18th of the 3rd month (Rabi`al-Awwal), 628, which was 24 January 1231 (Julian calendar), and the next will be 4th July 6717 (Gregorian). |

When writing the entire date I prefer the military format (day - three letter month - four digit year) because it is unambiguous. As an example, "2/1/7" can be read as any of the following: - First of February in 2007 - Second of January in 2007 - Seventh of January 2002. But "2 Jan 2007" can only be read one way. New trivia item: The Incredible Hulk was originally colored grey, but was changed to green due to the difficulty in printing grey consistently. |
