Onyx Boox 60 S
The new Onyx Boox 60 S has been launched for sale, by Ebookreader Discounter. It is similar to the Boox 60, but without wifi and touch. So the price is much lower!

Yes indeed! My mistake, the only difference is the Wifi, which saves you almost 100 euro !

US retail is 349 USD with wifi and wacom which is roughly about 242 Euros. The US online store is at www.OnyxBoox.com. Shipping in the US is 12.99 USD, international shipping is 34.99 USD.
However I believe Dulin's Books is offering $30 discount at www.Dulinsbooks.com with a certain code. Anyone help with that code? Also, not sure if he does international shipping. |

MikeOnyx,
I enjoy my Onyx Boox 60, but I'm looking at getting the Onyx Box 60 S as a present for relatives who don't need the WIFI. Could you let us know what the US retail price for the Boox 60 S - the model without WIFI - is in the US and if/when it will go on sale in the US? thanks and keep up the good work |

Thanks for the quick reply. I appreciate that you are so transparent about the retail price. Things are a little more confusing here in Europe, where eReaders are generally more expensive, which is why I was interested in the US price. The Boox 60 is sld here for 299 or 349 €. What is your RSVP and whats the EU price of the Boox 60 S?

Every company should do something like this. Wifi is nice for some people, but it seems like a major cost upgrade for a feature that is relatively useless for pure readers.

Honestly, without wifi would make it 30 USD less at most.

FYI €299 = $429.82. Just so there's no confusion. Last edited by MikeOnyx; 01-18-2010 at 02:55 AM. |

Librisnova (http://www.elektronischlezen.nl/ http://elektronischlesen.de/) sells it for €299, but is out of stock at the moment.
http://www.ebookreaderstore.nl had it for €299 this morning, as long as it was available, it said (op=op). But now they have it for €329. They brag about lowest price, but don't live up to it. Earlier they spoke about a lowest price guarantee, and on one site (marktplaats.nl) they even said that if you found it at a lower price they would match that and even give you €10 discount on that price. But as soon as I mailed the price of Librisnova they tried to discredit Librisnova and changed the part about the price guarantee. So much for living up to your promises. They also have an international (English) site http://www.ebookreaderdiscounter.com/ and a German one at http://www.ebookreaderstore.de/ and they have the price of €349. On the international site the price of the Onyx Boox 60 S is €259, but on the Ducth site it is €279. Quite confusing I would say. Even more confusing: They have an ad on the site http://www.ereaderclub.nl/ which refers to www.ebookreaderstore.nl and mentions the €299 price but if you click on it you get the €329 price. All this makes me reluctant to do business with them. There is another site http://www.studon.nl (a small publisher) that also sells the Wifi version for €299. Last edited by pietvo; 01-19-2010 at 05:42 AM. Reason: Added `the Wifi version' for studon |
