Nesbit, Edith. Wet Magic (illustrated). v1. 12 Jan 2012

From Goodreads.com:

Quote:
On a seaside holiday four children, Francis, Mavis, Bernard and Kathleen, discover that a captured mermaid is being shown as an exhibit at the local circus. They decide to set her free, and in a daring rescue in the dead of night they help her escape and return to the sea. As a reward she takes them to visit her home, plunging them into an amazing series of under-sea adventures.

A magical fantasy by the author of 'The Railway Children' and 'Five Children and It.'
Originally published in 1913.

I "cheated" a bit with this and put the illustration captions onto the illustrations themselves, rather than make a table for each or figure out some other way to keep the text attached to the picture. I think it looks fine, but any feedback/constructive criticism is welcome since I'm still fairly new to this.

If you like to have a look at my version of The War Prayer by Mark Twain in the MR library you will see that in the Preface I have a brief summary of the book, and an image of Mark Twain complete with caption. If that's what you are looking for I'd be happy to put the CSS and HTML on the forum.

I got the technique from EPUB to the Point by Elizabeth Castro, which I highly recommend.

Alex, the one your have is what I would like, without the borders, preferably. I'm going to take a look at that book you recommended. The few books I've done so far have been 99% by the seat of my pants and 1% by reverse engineering. If you get a chance, yeah go ahead and put the code up here. Thank you!

I'll put it up, but probably not till tomorrow. I forgot to suggest last night that you could open up the ebook and see what I've done - though I'm assuming that you are familiar with CSS and HTML. If you don't want a border just leave that out.

Good evening, Banjobama

Here is the CSS and HTML for producing a right floating image with a border and - what you asked for - a caption. Just omit anything you don't want.

div.illustration {
margin: 0 0 0 0.5em; padding: 0;
border: 1px solid black;
width: 50%;
float: right;
}
div.illustration img {
border: 0; margin: 0; padding: 0;
width: 100%;
display: inline;
}
div.illustration p {
margin: 0; padding: 0;
text-align: center;
text-indent: 0;
font-size: smaller;
} /* With thanks to Elizabeth Castro */

<div class="illustration">
<img src="images/MarkTwain.png" alt="Mark Twain"/>
<p>Mark Twain</p>
</div>
