T1 Stalled Out
Reading on my T1 when I swiped the screen to turn the page but nothing happened. So I pushed the page turn button and the screen went black. Then it turned white with rotating arrows in the middle. They are actually not rotating but what appear to be frozen in rotation
Then the screen switches to black, then white with the arrows. I assume a hard reset is needed but not sure how to do that. Would appreciate any advice |

The very same thing just happened to me 2 day lol.... I had just closed wi-fi after visiting FB and bang screen started going black then white with "rotating arrows graphic popping up.... it took me 3 soft resets to get back to normal and much longer for my heart rate to get back to normal lol.. so the thing is..... if you hit a problem and one reset doesn't work then try a second or even a third and a power recycle if you can BEFORE taking more drastic action like a hard reset

There is not one model of eink reader that I have read about here on MR that has not has some sort of oddness. Not that there are inherent flaws. Just that none are 100% bug free.

Yeah the e-ink technology is still evolving but NO software is ever 100% bug free.. not ever, bug-free software is an urban myth,... I always think of the first couple of years commercial release as the "Beta" verson lol.....

Then all readers will be beta as each new version brings new bugs with the new features.

Look, our local authority worked on a project with a permanent IBM team, along with a fairly large and experienced "task-force", and a large budget, for 2-3 years, to link up and re-organise all the finances of a number of authorities, to make things more efficient and cost-effective.
Council employees were in fact put on contract for this important and new venture. But, even the might of IBM and the experience of the council staff could get the thing bug-free enough to function correctly. The scheme was abandoned and IBM went home. So what chance has anyone of getting a little ereader to function OK out of the box ..... |
