Having trouble finding my books in my kobo library

I haven't used my kobo arc for a long time. I used to be able to add books to it pretty easily but now I am having trouble and I don't remember doing anything particularly special to get it working.

There are two books on archive.org that I tried adding, Calibre detected my kobo, and I have a green check mark telling me that my books are on my main memory. But when I open up the library on my kobo they are not there!

If it helps any, a bit more info

When I plug in my kobo arc and my computer detects it via USB, when opening up the kobo that way I found the two books I tried to send in a folder called books. But I still don't know why I cannot find them in my kobo library

I haven't played with a Kobo Android tablet in years but I seem to remember having to use an import function in Tapestry(?) Library(?) to allow me to see sideloaded books.

Looking at the Kobo Arc user manual (RTFM):

Step 2 of 2: Import your EPUBs into your Library on your Kobo Arc
1. Open the Kobo app.
2. Tap the menu button at the top of the screen.
3. Tap Import Content.
4. Tap Start.
5. Select the checkbox beside the book you want to import.
6. Tap Import Selected. A dialog box will appear.
7. Perform one of the following:
• Tap No keep a copy of the book on your memory card, and import the file.
• Tap Yes to delete the copy of the book on your memory card, and import the file.

Note: When you log out of your Kobo account on your Kobo Arc, your personal data is deleted, including any books you’ve imported with this method.

This is from the manual for the original ARC as found at Kobo Arc user guide.

If you have one of the other ARC models, their manuals can be found at Kobo ereader user guides.

Thanks I’ll try that

For now what I have done is download the books in PDF. I was able to cloud my books and read them with Adobe on my kobo. I made sure I could also read them offline
