Question What is Original_epub vs epub and orignal_azw vs azw
some of my books in calibre show up with original_epub or orignal_azw, along with just epub and azw versions of the same title....the sizes of the "original" are different than the "unoriginal" version....

can someone explain that?

These occur when you run a conversion where the input and output types are the same (e.g. ePub->ePub).

If you converted, embedded metadata or polished books, Calibre saves a copy of the original ebook by default. The "unoriginal" is the edited version.

There are times I have restored the original eBook. So it's a good thing to have. I keep the original until I am sure I don't need it.
