Arc HELP! kobo broken - no fixing in Australia!!

Hello all,
I have had a kobo arc 7 tablet for 8 months and have been in love with it.
Of course I was a little bit hopeless with caring for it and the screen became damaged.

I thought "oh well, I'll just go get it fixed....."
Nope.
Not possible.
No where in Australia fixes Kobo, and when I contacted Kobo customer support to ask if I could send my tablet to them to be fixed their response was "Unfortunately, we do not offer repair services or replacement parts, nor do we endorse any service providers that might." .....

So I'm really annoyed.
So i need your help!

I have seen some of you have gotten your kobo fixed, so where are you sending it?
I am more than happy to ship it overseas if that's what needs to be done. I really don't want to buy a new one because I hadn't backed up my device recently and it has a number of things on it I still want to use.
