Database Integrity Check a speed demon?
I ran the Database Integrity check on my 4300 book library and expected to wait endless minutes while it did its thing. Less then 30 seconds later it was complete.
It still would be nice to have a positive affirmation widow that you had to acknowledge, something like Database Integrity check complete, no errors found. Great work to everyone for all of the recent speed improvements. Thanks! |

was there a time when the check was particularly slow? I don;t use it often, so I haven't been keeping track.
I'll add the success message for the next release. |

Was this check part of the action that happened when we clicked the button in the old "Preferences Miscellaneous" section and later split out? It was not glaringly obvious then, where in the things happening, how long a 'step' took.

Just weighing in on this.
I just ran the check database in calibre 9.16 on a db file off 166 mb, holding 120000 books in it. On a i7-3770T running at 2.5 ghz, 32 gig of ram and running off of a sata3 3 terrabyte drive with transfer speeds of 100mbs + ( i think read speed is about 140mbs) It took about 4 minutes. |
