Wintle, W. J.: Ghost Gleams (collected ghosts). v1. 06 Jan 2021

Fifteen tales of the occult: some very chilling indeed, a few with comic touches; all are clever and sure to entertain fans of the ghostly and ghastly. The appendix adds an essay discussing purportedy “true stories of the ghost world.”

===================
William James Wintle (1861 – 25 July 1934) was a British journalist and writer. Towards the end of the First World War, he became an Oblate in the Benedictine Abbey on Caldey Island, where he turned his creative talents to telling ghost stories to the boys of the Abbey’s school. Ghost Gleams, Wintle’s only collection of supernatural tales, was one of the writer’s last published works.

===================
Ghost Gleams was originally published in 1921; added essay “Can You Explain It?” in 1903. This book is in the public domain in countries where copyright is “Life+80” or less, and in the USA.
