Well, the Kindle doesn't get out much and would likely fall prey to the dulcet tones of a personal recorder.

Reminds me of staying in my godmother's holiday cottage in Wales in the early 70s. At the time, she had a caravan toilet in an outhouse which needed the bucket emptying at the end of your stay. You kept gumboots by the door to pay visits (and to wear when cooking in rainy weather as there was a stream running through the kitchen)...

Glad you got it back! My dog had a go at eating my other half's Kindle last year, though I think it was actually the leather cover that he wanted. It does still work, a bit chewed at one corner, and a few black marks on the screen. We retired it and just use it to run the French account for cleaning books. He has a new Kindle in a PLASTIC case.
I've never left mine in dog proximity. |

This reminds me of the time I was sitting on my bed and kept thinking to myself I need to work on my Kindle Fire 6 today. So finally I got up and went to the shelf I keep it and it was gone. So I ramsack the room looking for it and there is no trace of the little tablet. I gave up and in frustration I plopped down on my bed and let out a big sigh. Something bumps my knee. I look down and there is the Kindle Fire 6 on my bed.
I must have unconsciously got up and got it from the shelf. I have absolutely no memory of doing so. That had never happened to me before. Sent from my XT1528 |

This is the advantage of find my iDevice! That puppy has come in handy more than a few times. I tend to get very absent minded when distracted. Fortunately, while I've opened the refrigerator door to put the coffee pot in, I've never actually put it in. <grin> The nice thing about the big iPad pro is, it's big and easy to spot!

That works with the Fires. And only if they have power and are turned on. I lost my Fire Cuttlebug 2 months ago. I know it's in the house - probably shelved some where on edge. Oh yeah, and the smartphones have to be on and charged too.

Isn't it weird how the last place you look is always where you find it?
Usually when I lose something it's because I put it somewhere special "where I won't forget it." Almost guaranteed that I will forget it. |
