Setting Cover to an E-book
I have figured out how to do this but it seems like it could be a little simpler.
I suggest the following: 1) While editing the metadata of a book, load and select the cover desired 2) Select the format (upper right area) for which the cover is to be attached 3) Hit a new button that says Set cover to selected format No need to Convert a format to itself anymore. |

I always use the Set Metadata or the Polish plogins to do this without doing a conversion.

It's a calbredb command option, see ==>> Command line - calibredb
For ePUB it can also be done via the Modify optional plugin. BR |

There is a much better why to change the cover for ePub. Go to Google images and find the cover. View the full image. Copy the image to the clipboard. Load the ePub into the Calibre eBook editor. Double click the cover image in the ePub to view it. Paste the cover over the other cover image. You can then losslessly compress the images. save and done! Then in Calibre, go to the metadata editor and click the cover button to select the new cover from the ePub. Click OK and done.
