Question hello all

Hi Gang,

Newbie to yet another Forum.

I have a couple of friends that have asked me to help them with their eBooks.

Ouch... yet another learning curve .. so many flavors to choose from.

I've started reading about MobiPocket and ended up here on my info searchs, to find even more flavors here.

I was wondering if someone with experience could help guide my reading? and maybe short cut my learning curve

Format A has 40% of the market share
Format B has 20% ....
Format C has 6%
... and so on

I'm thinking I won't have to make all formats available .. true?... or perhaps not?

Hi Jeff! I hope MobileRead won't make you feel like "yet another forum"

It's hard to say which format has the highest market share, but it's fair to assume that Mobipocket is a good share; and Amazon will likely to catch up with its proprietary Kindle format (since it's Amazon).

Good to see you on board.

thankis for the welcome

Hi all,

Thanks for the replies and welcome. :-)

My 'yet anotyher fourm" comment was not rudeness, i was jsut referring to our field of interest ..... computers and the never ending path of self-education.

In some way its a lot of fun and I can't image not learning something new everyday.

Its just that somedays it would be nice to go directly to the to-do list and not have to filter through the many many path choices.

----------

as for MobiPocket... I'm just learning the many format and readers... but I though Amazon would also accept Mobipocket..... No?
