I'm getting an error trying to convert dutch lanugage e-pubs to kfx. English language e-pubs convert to kfx fine.
Error message: KFX conversion failed: <p><b>Cannot convert <book-title></b><br><br><b>KFX creation error:</b> Unknown com.amazon.yjconversion feature: reflow-language-2</p> I replaced the book title with <book-title> in the log below, and replaced my username with 'john'. Log: Spoiler:

Version 1.27.0 - 08 Feb 2019
Support Dutch language books. (Fixes "Unknown com.amazon.yjconversion feature: reflow-language-2") Detect Previewer versions up to 3.29.1 and remove support for Previewer versions older than 3.27. (Newer Previewer versions produce better results.) Allow the ".last" CLI function to work with Previewer version 3.29 and later. |

I've tried removing and reinstalling Kindle Previewer 3.29.1 and your 1.27 plug in. Running Calibre 3.39.1, but trying to convert anything to kfx including the Frankenstein test file gives the following error:
calibre, version 3.39.1 ERROR: KFX conversion failed: <p><b>Cannot convert Frankenstein</b><br><br><b>Conversion error:</b> Kindle Previewer error: Exception in thread "main" java.lang.UnsatisfiedLinkError: C:\Users\pwlyons\AppData\Local\Amazon\Kindle Previewer 3\lib\fc\lib\MessagingJNI.dll: The specified procedure could not be found</p> I should add this started with Kindle Previewer versions greater than 3.24 which works fine with plug-in 1.26. Now that plugin 1.27 doesn't support Previewer 3.24, this is an issue. Last edited by pwlyons; 02-08-2019 at 05:38 PM. Reason: Left out info |

I have attached the previous version (1.26.0) of the the KFX Output plugin to this post. You can install that manually in calibre as a workaround. (See "How do I install a plugin manually?" in the Introduction to plugins for instructions.) Last edited by jhowell; 02-08-2019 at 07:18 PM. |

[QUOTE=jhowell;3808306]It appears that recent versions of the Previewer are attempting to make use of an OS function that is missing from your system. I have no idea on how to solve that. I am curious to know what version of Windows you are running.
I am running Vista Ultimate 32 bit. |

Vista support

I started working on a new install on a laptop running Windows 10 to replace the Vista box since the compatibility will only get worse now. I know I need to stay away from Kindle for PC 1.25 there. Thanks for your plug-in and responsiveness. It is most appreciated. |

Why is the text larger in kfx formats? Comparing the same text size between azw3 and kfx, text is noticeably larger in kfx

One thing that might cause a differences is if you use FONT_RAMP on your Kindle. That will affect the font size of books in AZW3 format only. If you want me to research this further you will need to supply a non-copyrighted sample that demonstrates the problem. |

Seems I am only seeing this behavior in a specific azw3 file... sorry for the trouble. And thank you, really appreciate your work! |

Version 1.28.0 - 02 Mar 2019
Add metadata (asset_id) required to allow Vocabulary Builder to work with sideloaded KFX books. Preserve publication date metadata during conversion. Detect Previewer versions up to 3.29.2. |

Sideloading issue
I have managed to convert the .epub to .kfx in calibre. However I can't seem to get it onto my kindle. I have tried calibre send to device and manually adding the .kfx file to the kindle documents folder but although it appears to be there in calibre, it does not show up on my kindl.e

A 6th generation or later Kindle is required. The earliest firmware release with any KFX support was version 5.6.5. However because KFX has been extended over time using the latest version (currently 5.10.3) is strongly recommended for reading sideloaded KFX books. Last edited by jhowell; 03-06-2019 at 07:41 PM. |
