Kobo E_Reader wifi upgrade gone bad - Page 56

Hi there,
I've got an old Kobo Wifi (Model: N647) that I thought was destined for the bin, however a little searching has brought me here where I see there's a solution to this common problem and I now have hope for its future! I have downloaded the tools mentioned in the upgrade guide and would be grateful for a copy of the firmware.

Aside from the firmware issue, could someone tell me whether the current Rakuten Kobo Desktop supports this old eReader?

Sorry, can't help with the desktop. My oldest device is a Touch and it is still supported.

Thank you Davidfor! I'll be giving this image a try today. Once it's up and working properly again I'll see if the Desktop app will recognise it.

I really appreciate your work and help to the community!

Today I had the bad Idea to update my fully workink Kobo Wifi to 1.9.11 without making a backup before

Now device is in endless bootloop.

Could someone be so nice and send me a working Image (Model N647B)

Am I'm right, that 1.9.10 is the latest working firmware for my device?

Alas, I didn't read this first. I was given an old Kobo model 647. It seems to work fine but will not log into my Kobo account. Doesn't appear to recognize password. It is using 1.9.12. Does this 'image' referred to cause this problem? It's not a big deal since I can sideload, but I finally have a Kobo to connect to my Kobo account and it doesn't connect!

I don't think the problem you are seeing is the same as the one this thread has been discussing. The thing I would do for your situation is start with a factory reset. You will need to do a search to see how to do this, as I can never remember the steps on a WiFi.

But, it could be a different symptom of the same problem. And apart from the time taken, it won't harm to restore the image. I've sent a PM with the link to the image to try if needed.

I hope you are all well, I recently purchased a used kobo wifi which was working fine till i had to plug it in and update it, at which point the update bricked the device and it was stuck on the page with the 7 boxes,
Through the internet i managed to watch a video and am able to get the sd card out but need a firmware to flash onto it and would appreciate any help that anyone could provide

Let us know the model you have. I have the firmware for the N289, N647, and N647B
