A list with the most popular books from MR?
Hello there!

Just out of curiosity: Is it possible to consult a list with the most popular books from the MR library? The ones with the most downloads? I've been looking for one, but haven't found it.

The most popular aren't necessarily the ones with the most downloads. If the uploader updates the book frequently, the download count gets reset every time a new version is uploaded.

But, on the other hand, some of the downloads are probably from people who had already downloaded the previous versions, and it makes sense not counting them again

I compiled such a list last year in this posting https://www.mobileread.com/forums/showthread.php?t=25508.

Just open the .zip attachment and load up the .xls Excel spreadsheet. There you will find two tabs 'MR (Summary)' and 'MR (Detail)'. Take a look at the 'MR (Detail)' as it lists the Top 100 ebooks downloaded up to June 2008.

But like HarryT says, there may be some omissions since frequently revised ebooks have their download counts zeroed out for each revision.
