Mitchell is the 1st in their Bad in Baltimore series of standalone m/m contemporary erotic romances featuring different couples set in the titular city, this installment involving the classic pretend-to-be-lovers-with-someone-considered-unacceptable in order to troll your obnoxious family and in the process discover that you're probably going to end up getting therapy for sex addiction with your former-friend-now-upgraded-with-benefits plot, with a fillip of revenge on said family for having ruined said former friend's family leading to the former former-ness of said friendship, free courtesy of publisher Samhain.

This has 4 out of 5 flames on the heat index over at All Romance eBooks, and no particular warnings. Aside from the usual Samhain content disclaimer, that is.

Currently free @ Amazon (available to Canadians & in the UK), Kobo & Google Play (both available to Canadians), and DRM-free in multiple formats available worldwide at All Romance eBooks. Will likely also drop @ B&N (doesn't seem to exist in their UK store, for some reason) in a few more days, and may show up free directly from the publisher as Samhain freebies usually do, although they may be getting experimental with their self-pricing again, if their other recent freebie is anything to go by. Because if it's going to be a primarily-romance-freebie-posting sort of day, I might as well post one with a bit of orientation-oriented variety in it (and some semblance of backstabby intrigue, which often makes for added fun in freebies of a certain type).

But on a more serious note, I did actually read one of Mitchell's earlier Samhain official publisher promo m/m freebies a couple of years ago and overall mostly liked it (enough to pick up one of the tie-in sequels that looked interesting during a deep-discount sale, by way of thanks for the freebie), even though it was somewhat heavy on the pointless-seeming relationship melodrama side for my taste.

So I would put this overall as a likely to be entertaining and decently written m/m story, with hopefully a greater amount of actual plot and not so much relationship drama this time around.
