The update will be made available for existing customers to update and new customers will download the latest software during the Vox setup process.

Just thought I would mention that if you do install the patch & you don't need it,
you will see a popup message you so & telling you to uninstall it.

Preambulator: There is no harm in trying the 'pre-update' on your Vox. Neither is there any harm in not running it, but if you need it your update will not succeed until you run the patch application.

Will the Vox automatically update itself or do we have to manually 'check for updates' from within the settings?

You will not have to do the check for updates thing. Vox does it 1x a day.
