PW3 5.16.2.1.1 successful Jailbreak but non-working KUAL

Hello.
I've successfully Jailbroken my PW3 running latest 5.16.2.1.1. Installed KUAL 2.7 via ;log mrpi.
The KUAL book showed up in library and I can access it.
I installed KOReader 2024.03.1 using koreader-kindlepw2-v2024.03.1.zip (copy over the extensions and koreader folder to Kindle root folder). It showed up in KUAL, but when I pressed Start KOReader, or any option to start it, the Kindle just flash, then go to the home page. I assume KOReader crashed.
This happened with all other extensions I tried launching with KUAL.
I have tried reinstalling the vanilla 5.16.2.1.1 via UYK. Ran the Jailbreak again twice, but still the same result.
My Kindle was in Airplane mode, and not signed in.
Can somebody help me understand what's going on?

you can try downgrade and jailbreak again

There's an issue for this on the languagebreak github
Here's a workaround:

1: Use the Resell option
2: After it finishes restarting, factory reset the kindle.
3: Do not enter demo mode or access the demo menu after this point.
4: After it finishes restarting, install the official firmware for 5.16.1.1.1 via USB.
5: After it finishes restarting the Kindle will still be jailbroken, but will no longer be in managed mode. The MKK folder will not be present. Put the hotfix in the root of your device and install it via the UYK menu option.

It should now be out of managed mode and and correctly jailbroken.
