Question Error communicating with device

Hi – re Error communicating with device
• A description of the problem: on connecting the iPad, I get error message: Error communicating with device. Error details:
o Traceback (most recent call last):
o File "site-packages\calibre\gui2\device.py", line 87, in run
o File "site-packages\calibre\gui2\device.py", line 584, in _upload_books
o File "site-packages\calibre\devices\interface.py", line 412, in upload_books
o NotImplementedError
• The specific steps to recreate the problem: connect iPad with Calibre running or if I right click to send a book to device
• The version of calibre I am using: 2.50.1 [64 bit]
• Calibre's language setting: English
• Operating system: Windows 8.1, 64-bit
• The version of iTunes installed on your system
o iOS: 8.3
o Windows: iTunes version 12.3.2.35
• The version of the plugin installed: iOS reader application (1.4.7.0.0)
• The preferred reader application selected in the configuration dialog: iBOOKS
• A description of your iDevice including cellular technology/provider: iPad (3rd generation - iOS 8.3)
Confirming:
• Confirm that Sync with this iPad over Wi-Fi is disabled in iTunes
• Enable Manually manage videos or Manually manage music and videos
• Disconnect your iDevice, then do a hard reset
• Confirm that you have a single iDevice physically connected to your computer
• Customize plugin: In the Preferred iOS reader application combo box, select iBooks

When running debug device detection i get: "calibre, version 2.50.1
ERROR: Device already detected: A device (iOS reader applications) is already detected by calibre. If you wish to debug the detection of another device, first disconnect this device"

Thanks in advance for assistance

Calibre can't directly send books directly to the iPad. Do a "Save to Disk" from within Calibre, and then drag and drop the files from the folder in which you've saved them onto the "Books" tab of iTunes.
