Server maintenance 01/18@4am EST

Yeah... It's that time of the year again where we're planning a quick maintenance window for our servers and software. The maintenance will be performed on Sunday, Jan 18th at 4:00am Eastern Time and I don't expect any downtime for longer than five minutes.

The upgrade has been completed. At the moment, there is an issue with the downloading of attachments and images.

We are working on the fix.

I don't wish to poke fun at this but I can't help it .... 5 minutes in MR reality certainly longer than in mine ...

Heh, I think we kept the downtime to three or four minutes. The actual upgrade took around 45 minutes to complete, but that was when the forum was already back online.

Don't worry, normally things are rather boring during upgrades. Only when Harry reported a problem with downloading attachments today, I could feel the stress level somewhat shooting up.

We keep onsite and offsite backups (hourly, daily, monthly) for the peace of mind. But I agree, it's no fun to suddenly see all attachments being inaccessible.

Ah - now - there's a thread in the Llounge that could help you with that .... But of course you had backups in case ....

Now Harry, wouldn't you have backups of all of yours?

Just a little (oh well a big) bit of reuploading and voilà!

My books to reupload would only take me like about 12-15 hours, I gather!

Certainly I have backups, but just imagine the amount of work it would be to re-upload them all!

Ummm... Hate to be a noodge, but my CP seems to have been borked... I click on it and get a screen that says HTTP 404 is not available.
