Google labs to close
This may be old news to readers of this forum but Google announced it is closing Google Labs as part of an effort to narrow the company's focus. The change is being reported in several media outlets. Wired.com reports that the gmail lab will continue. Here's the Wired.com report:

I have mixed feelings on this. I really enjoyed the Lab apps, some very useful apps have come out of the lab.

However Google has more products now than before and focusing on making what already exists better is a very sound strategy.
