U of Chicago Press evidently does this for one day every month. I assume it is the last day of the month.

You can find it for $9.99 at Amazon as well. So if a person misses the free edition the kindle edition of the book isn't too expensive.

Cool, thanks! Roger Ebert is cool, and I'm not just saying that because he e-mailed in response to one of my usenet posts years ago.
 Did you follow the link to the other e-books available from U of Chicago Press? Holy moley, that's quite a selection, from novels and poetry to (of course) all sorts of reference books and nonfiction! They even have the Richard Stark books.

Shoot! It's only 10 pm here, but it's after midnight in Chicago, so they have a different book up now. I wish I'd seen this earlier - I adore RE.
