Free (Kindle) How to Drive a Tank and Other Everyday Tips for the Modern Gentleman

--Free (Kindle) How to Drive a Tank and Other Everyday Tips for the Modern Gentleman - Frank Coles

Publisher: Little Brown, Abacus, Riding High

Quote:
Book Description:

Call yourself a man? You do? Do you even know what a real man is? Are you a six-foot-one Adonis who wears all the latest fashions, moisturises regularly, visits spas for pleasure and never does anything wrong? Or do you drink twenty pints every Friday night, guzzle a burger and fries on the way home and then fart yourself to sleep? It's time to stop being the man everyone expects you to be and be the one you want to be.

Learn how to:

- Pick locks, safes and chastity belts

- Disappear without a trace in 24 hours

- Win a gun fight

- Survive the wild

- Ride a wall of death

- Work a 4-hour week

- Survive any crisis

- Make things go boom

- Drive cars sideways

- Be a great dad

...and, of course, drive a tank.

Fast-paced and funny, this is the ultimate bible for the modern man.

--Dark Market (Assassins Rule) - Frank Coles [Action/Thriller]

Quote:
Book Description:

KILL ANYONE, ANYWHERE, ANYTIME...AND NEVER GET CAUGHT.

John Savage is a special force of one. A corporate investigator who had to leave when an investigation went wrong. He's become a 21st century warrior serving overseas but not for any one government only the highest bidder.

When he finds a dead body with links to his old life he returns and finds that what forced him out was only the beginning of a conspiracy to commit murder on a grand scale. The Dark Market. In which anyone can take part and anyone can be a victim. Now Savage must battle to finish what he started.

"There is something refreshingly Hemingway-esque about Coles..." BBC's Focus magazine.

Thanks, but as of today, (Saturday, August 4th), they are only 'free' for Prime members to borrow, not free to own. Again, thanks for posting, but I guess they were only for a short while.

this is true of essentially all the deals posted.

no real need to comment as such, except on those that are gone a few minutes or hours after the original post (saves a few clicks); after a day, they aren't on the front page and most won't see them, anyway (unless they are resurrected by comments).

koland,

I realize that deals expire, but wished to note that they were no longer good after less than one day. I had thought that since they were posted at 10pm Friday night, they might still be good on Saturday. It isn't usually my practice to post and complain about the book deals no longer being available. My first post wasn't to be a complaint, but rather a heads up, since the deals were already gone. It was a mistake to have posted about this.

Also, I greatly appreciate the effort put forth by all those who post deals here.

I wouldn't feel too badly. I nearly wrote a similar post earlier this week.

There have been several later-in-the-day posts about books this week that looked interesting (including "How to drive a tank") but were no longer available the next morning. I decided that the time of a post probably had nothing to do with when the the book became free; it was based more on when someone first noticed the book was free.

I had decided that I need to check later posts or run the risk of missing out. Of course, I neglected to do so last evening. Oh well.

That's right. I know it's frustrating to click on a freebie and find out it's no longer free, but we can only post them when we see them or have the time to post them. Most of them start at just after midnight and go for 24 hours from then; some will last a week or so.

Authors are allowed to set as little time as 12 hours on their freebies, although most do a full day (which runs midnight-midnight in Seattle, which is on Pacific, US time). Many want the bump in rankings from a free day, but really don't want to give books away, so often do a single day (then again, the Christian book publishers have figured out that for bigger publishers, a single day at a time is apparently more effective -- of course, we look for the bigger publishers a bit harder vs. the flood of self-published titles).
