Icon Meanings
This is really bugging me and I am tired of searching the user guide and these forums for the answer.

In version 0.7.16 on the left hand side when I expand the Authors or Tags some of the icons are partially colored, others are grayed out. Why?

It is a graphical representation of the ratings you have entered for the books. the author represents the ratings of all the books for that author, the tags for all the books with that tag etc... Hovering over the little head you will see a rating. If the head is all light gray then that author has no rated books in the library.

You can turn this off by unchecking 'Show average ratings in the tag browser', found in Preferences -> Interface.
