Smile Hello

I joined this forum because I was trying to learn more about the Sony 505 e- reader which I am considering to purchase. So here is the question....If I have purchased and downloaded books and my friend has done the same, can we share books with eachother? If you know the answer, I appreciate your help.

Hi Gail and welcome to the forum! I absolutely love my 505. I'm not sure as to the answer to your question though. I know there is a link somewhere the alludes to the idea of sharing books on Adobe Digital Editions (sharing between them), but I'm not sure how it works exactly, and that wouldn't work for books purchased through the sony ebookstore. Hopefully someone will come along and help with the answer to your question. Welcome!

Welcome to MobileRead Gail.

I have a 505 which I absolutely love and I have found many free books to put on it. Check out the free ebooks here at MobileRead (click on the 'ebooks' button in the blue bar at the top of the page).

You can share some books, but not all. The situation is rather complicated. Check out this thread for more information --

Hi Gail and welcome to MobileRead. You can also borrow eBooks from libraries. Check out the list of lending libraries here https://wiki.mobileread.com/wiki/EBook_Lending_Libraries

If the books have DRM then they will need to be registered to the same account to be shared. If they do not have DRM then they are freely shared.
