ebook viewer as online help?
Just curious: Can the ebook viewer be "remote controlled" so an app could automatically take you to relevant sections of that app's help document when you ask it for online help?
If it can't be, is this something that might be possible to implement with a plugin? |

No and no.
You can hack it by having your help file in epub format and inserting the position you want as the last read bookmark into calibre_bookmarks.txt into the epub before opening the viewer. Though since the bookmarks are in CFI format, generating them wont be easy. The easiest way would probably be to save the bookmarks manually using the bookmark facility in the viewer and then manipulate the calibre_bookmarks.txt programmatically. |

Shucks! I was thinking more of a document with a fairly detailed table of contents and being able to set it a command to goto some TOC entry. I can click on 'em already, the remote control would just be a new way to pretend I clicked an entry.
