File called "Set Up Kindle" - how to remove

I have the early Kindle, the one with the word "Kindle" on the back. It is jail-broken. A pseudo file is on there called "Set Up Kindle" which if you open it tells me to register my Kindle using an existing account or to create a new account. I have tried both and neither works, Amazon always telling me to try later. I have tried this multiple times over multiple days. I can log on to my Amazon account via my PC with no problem.

Once you have tried to register you cannot get out of that loop without restarting the device.

I don't particularly wish to register my device as I never buy books from them. Is it possible to remove the pseudo file "Set Up Kindle" from my device? It's not there as a real file so I can't delete through, say, Calibre.

Thanks for any advice.
