Benet, Stephen Vincent: Thirteen O'Clock, V1, 22 June 2018

Stephen Vincent Benét (1898-1943) was a Pulitzer Prize-winning American poet, short story writer, and novelist. He is best known for the short stories "The Devil and Daniel Webster" (1936) and "By the Waters of Babylon" (1937). Thirteen O'Clock is his best-known short story collection and contains both those stories.

Three of the stories below have been filmed: "By the Waters of Babylon", "The Devil and Daniel Webster," and "The Sobbin' Women" (as "Seven Brides for Seven Brothers")
