Intro & question - labelling download files

Hi there, I'm using a Sony PRS-600 since a couple of weeks, and loading it mostly with a lot of pdf files from the ISI Web of Science etc. Unfortunately it shows no consistency in relabelling the files when they go into the reader Books and Collections. As a matter of habit I label all these published articles in pdf form, first with author, then date, then title: i.e. <<Coldham.1978_Land reform in Kenya>>. As such they are always correctly stored in the 'mother' desktop computer.
I would be grateful for any advice to correct or improve this as the reader is sometimes labelling the downloaded file as entered, or with any combination of the above, or with 'untitled', or some weird tag from the original electronic library file. It's frustrating.

Currently I have my right hand in a plaster due to an accident, so I'm grateful for the possibility of using my left hand to enter all important messages and notes in the Text Memo, legibly.

The reader looks at the metadata, not the file name. To change that, you'll need either Acrobat Pro (expensive) or a program like the free ByCyPDFMetaEdit.
