Reading scanned PDFs

I am in the market for a Sony 650 however I was wondering how they will render scanned PDfs as this will make up at least part of my reading material. From what I can gather the best method would be to read in landscape and zoom in till it fills the screen and divides the PDF image into thirds. Can anyone with a prs 600 confirm that this is possible? I know that the 650 will hold the zoom level for pages turns, unlike the 600 so this may be a possible way to read scanned PDFs without waiting in vain for 9.7" vapourware.

Reading in landscape worked, but I prefer reading in portrait and moving to the section I want to read (mainly magazines, so articles I'm interested in tend to be spread all over the page where landscape is just not practical).
For scanned pdfs it greatly depends on how well done the scan is. If the texts edges are too light for example, zooming in makes reading really hard as the text seems to be washed out on the edges.

Thanks Mike ... just to clarify when you say the texts edges do you mean the edge of each individual letter? Or the edge of the page? I guess the texts I gave vary greatly in quality (mainly Google book scans), however its good to know the zoom function works even on scanned PDFs.

It's every single character. If the scan is made with a low resolution, you'll get jagged edges that make reading the letters real hard. With good scans I found it to be ok.
Great I could help
