Hide "update found"
I've searched for this topic before posting this and only found a mention from 2012, in which Kovid said it is not possible.
Has this changed? Is there any way you can hide the 'Update found: X.X.X' that is permanently shown at the bottom of Calibre's window? I cannot update anyway, so I would like to hide it. |

I've been looking around for a solution as well. Seems impossible.

there is like a new release every other day (not saying that is a bad thing), I am tired of keep updating every time I open the programme. I should be able to hide that and manually update every once in a while.

Every other day??? Then you did not actually UPDATE (it is not Automatic after a download).
That is just the same notice being repeated (note the version number in the notice) Normal releases are every other week (after the major level update settles. We are settled on 7 for quite a while) |

I don't install every update; I update once in a while. The rest of the time I just ignore the notification, which is easy to do, as after the first time it's only displayed on the status bar. I'm not bothered by it being there.

I agree. I check what's new and what people write here and may wait a few weeks for a later update or update the next day.
