Kindle Keyboard - Slow and Won't remove Deleted books
Ok, I finally ran into it. I have a Kindle Keyboard that reads just fine, but is slow, slow, slow when you use home page or sorting buttons. I've deleted books with only about 300 remaining. Still Slow. I did a reset. Still Slow, even after several resets. I did that indexing thing and it has 13 books that should have been indexed long ago. I tried deleting them and they will not stay deleted even though it says it removed them. What would you suggest to do next? I've been ignoring the problem for a couple of months, because, as I mentioned, it reads fine and goes page to page without delay.

Did you do a regular restart, or a Factory Reset? A Factory Reset should delete all ebooks on the Kindle.
The next thing I would try is connecting the Kindle to a computer and deleting everything from the documents folder on the Kindle via the computer (and then empty the trash). |

People say that it won't work if you delete via USB because the files are cached in memory, or something. It is not recommended to delete files that way.

Deleting via USB has always worked fine for me.

It has for me, too, but people on this and other forums have said that the indexes don't get deleted, and other issues.

I did not know that the 15 second reset is not the same as the factory reset. So should I delete the stuff in the documents file first or do the factor reset first?
This is what is described for factory reset; From the Kindle Home screen, press Menu. Select Settings. Press Menu. Select Reset to Factory Defaults. |

A factory reset deletes everything, so no need to delete first.
