Searching for an old movie
I know this (MobileRead) is maybe the wrong forum, but it's the only forum I really spend my time on...
When I was a kid, I saw a movie that I'm trying to track down now, and had no luck so far. It's driving me crazy for a while. I'm pretty sure it was an old italian movie. I had a black and white tv back then so I can't say if the movie was in colour or not. The movie showed the people living in a small town, going to the cinema. But, instead of showing the movie projected, the camera showed only the people in the cinema, their comments, reactions to what they were seeing on the screen, etc. I think all the movie was like this, showing the audience. I remember a reply, everybody was concentrated on a scene where the actors were about to... kiss. The audience was shocked about it, one woman even turned her head away saying "I'm not watching porno movies". Of course, there were a lot of moments like this. I also remember the end of the movie. The people were now old, the cinema that brought so much joy to their life was just about to be demolished, and all of these old people gathered in the center of the town and watched that old cinema building beeing destroyed. Even that I was a kid, I remember being so sad about this scene... It was part of their lives, and who likes a part from their life destroyed? Is there anybody here who remembers a movie like this? I like old movies, and this one is first on my list to add to my collection... Thank you for your time... |

Anyway, I'm reading the IMDB posts now about it, and there are comparisons with other related works, so I'm sure it's only a matter of time now. Best regards, you may have brought a happy moment for me in this coming week-end. EDIT: P.S. It's the one I was searching for. I read the subtitles and I recognized some replies.
