LifeHack Beginner's Guide to E-Books

Dustin Wax at LifeHack has just published a very nice beginner's guide to e-books.

He covers formats, sources of e-books and how to read them. Nicely done, even if he did leave a few things out... like the great e-book library at MobileRead!

Glad I'm not the only one...but what can one expect from someone who prints out ebooks to read them?

Hate PDF ebooks. It's the wrong-wrong-wrong format unless you're printing the things out.

Thanks for the link to the article. Lifehack has mentioned several of my free software apps in the past (e.g. yWriter and yBook), so I just dropped a comment there.

Oh the freedom that Adobe Acrobat gives! What other format would let me do this:

Would iLiad be able to do this to a book in any other format? Can I scribble profanities on a copy of Wuthering Heights in, say, mobipocket format (.prc)?

It's also the capability of a tablet laptop that allows you to write on screen...

PDFs are...how can I put this politely...

For those that don't know, on any page on the REB 1200, I can also draw/scribble/erase and even 'yellow hilite' notes directly using its touchscreen.

Check the image in the MR Wiki for REB_1200
