Hello, is there any way I can add any of these to generate when there's no cover and I want to "Generate Cover" from the Edit Metadata window?

No, but you can use them in the optional Generate Cover plug-in

Some of the books in the MobileRead library either don't have covers, or have very dull/poor covers. Here are some settings for import into the plugin that produce Penguin-like simple colour covers with a MobileRead Library theme.

An example of a generated cover:

When I sat to review & fine-tune my Calibre library in February, I also have decided to make a Penguin-inspired book cover template! Shows, that they are truly a classic designwise.

My version is very minimal, and I've made 36 colour-variations to choose from.
Available in SVG & PNG format, with instructions on installation and SVG editing for even more colours.

But I do have the following question which I asked in the Generate Cover plugin thread with no response so far...can anyone in this thread chime in?

Hi, I wanted to share a cover template config I've recently made, specifically for use with FanFicFare but can be modified to work with other metadata. Borders.zip contains both 4 border pngs to use as images as well as the SVG to edit for additional border colors. Covers.zip will contain one Dark and Light gc cover export. Fonts used are Cinzel Semibold and Cormorant SC and the border flourish is from Ahlan Tulastra

The most simplistic template I could think of. Made with the help of Copilot.
Any paint program; such as paint.NET; can be used to flood/fill colours as desired.

With your templates, how does the text get edited given it's no longer text but part of the graphic image?
