Talking Hello from Brussels, Belgium!

Hello,

My name is Olivier and I live in Brussels, Belgium.

I am currently looking into buying my first e-book reader and I think that the Sony Reader PRS-505 would match my expectations.

This forum looks great and I have learned so much by reading most of the posts that I thought it was time I would register.

Hello, Oliver, and Welcome to MobileRead. Keep on reading, and you'll soon wonder how you ever survived without whichever device you chose. Here is the linky to our Wiki page on the 505. You can even download the manual, in case there are any questions that haven't been answered here. Good luck!

Welcome to MobileRead, othoorens

I have the Blue Sony 505 and love it! I am still playing with it and will venture on to calibre next for my collection (you can start reading the threads about it before you get your reader).

Sony offered 100 classics for the reader but after I started downloading them from Sony--I found that the classics uploaded by members at mobileread were formatted MUCH better (for me anyway). You can start downloading books now to be ready for when your reader arrives.

This is the index http://https://www.mobileread.com/for...hp?forumid=126 for books done by mobileread members.

The Sony reader uses LRF format.

I also can use epub and I know that there is another format or so---- maybe someone will chime in with the answer or you will find out in some of the threads.

Have fun and I hope you love your reader as much as I love mine

Thanks to all for the warm welcome and useful advice!

I like to read classics as well as mystery and thriller books.

I am currently considering buying the Sony Reader at the FNAC in Lille, France as it is not sold in Belgium. Should I consider other, better options?
