Hi from New Zealand

Well, my PRS-505 finally arrived on the weekend so I thought it was about time I ceased lurking and introduced myself as a respectable forum member in good standing.

So five days into having a Reader and I am really loving it. The only downside is discovering that much as I would love to dedicate most of my disposable income to it, it is almost impossible to find an online retailer who will allow me to use my NZ credit card to purchase ebooks. Luckily I'm not likely to run out of free books in the near future - particularly with Calibre's wonderful "Fetch News" feature.

Cheers
Arapito

Hi Arapito and welcome to MobileRead.

You can buy books from the Sony site using a Sony Gift card and there are members here who can get them for you

Hi Arapito

Welcome. You wrote that you have difficulty using a NZ CC for online shopping. Shocking - I bought my PRS-505 a few months ago (in UK) and have had very few problems ordering books from the US.

One of the main reaons for getting the device was to save on space and weight - ie the problems that conventional books give me. I have just received my permannent residence visa for NZ and having seen that there was no Amazon in NZ, I thought that ebooks were the answer.

What about public libraries? I understand that Auckland Public Library "stock" ebooks.

Regards
