Skin for Mobipocket Reader Emulator

Hi !

Nice forum - I learned a lot. But now I have a question.

I created some prc's with the mobipocket creator 4.2.

If the building is finished, I can preview the result in the emulator.

But there's no cybook-skin. Therefore I use the Sony Clie - skin .

Has anybody created a skin for the cybook ?

Would be nice to check the result in my "ebook-reader" and not in an other device.

Which is totally incorrect.

As a matter of fact if Vista was only shell/skin changes and none of the fundemental networking, security, kernal, driver framework changes that people were demanding (well people were demanding more security, stability and performance) there would be no compat issues and people would love Vista.

Totally proves the statement, "We gave them what they asked for, but not what they wanted."

Hi !

This has nothing to do with a normal skin of the windows os, like the shellstyle ... but, good and short explantion for the term "skin".

The skin I mean is from the mobipocket creator ... after building a prc with the mobipocket creator you can preview it with the mobipocket reader emulator. Mobipocket creator asks you for this after building the prc ! (If you use windows and have an installed mobipocket creator ... search for the MobiEmulator.exe on the computer).

There are many skins for Franklin, PalmOS, Symbian OS .... and no skin for the cybook. Would be nice to have a skin for the cybook, because you can "test" the created ebook before copying the book to the real cybook.

Here you can see what I mean ...

I thought the green smiley was indicative enough.

See skins for mobipocket emulator. These are for the Kindle and a generic WinCE 6" E-Ink device. If you have a Gen3, it should be straight forward to modify these to be more Gen3-like. However, there is a limit to how close the emulator can get to the real device. Note that there is a bug which clips the bottom of large skin images, I worked around this by extending the images further than needed.

I just use the standard Windows MobiPocket Reader to "preview" the Mobi books that I create. I don't really see the need to make it look specifically like a CyBook - I am, after all, creating books for Mobi devices in general, rather than the CyBook in particular.
