Tracy, Louis: The Captain of the Kansas, v1. 21 Mar 2011
Marked as Romance because there is Romance in it - but this 1906 vintage is really a sea-islands Adventure with Action and a dash of Mystery.
Edited from the PG original (accents and Ñ needed it badly), with some formatting and footnotes managed - some added for clarity. The original was not illustrated - but I feel it needed a couple of maps, and have added also some pictures, all from Wikimedia Commons, edited for a better fit.
