Please don't generalize about how eBooks look on an iPad/iPhone. Different reading apps can give different results. Bluefire Reader uses ADE while iBooks uses something bizarre and still unknown to man. Just say what app you are using to view your eBooks with the oddness. Don't generalize and make it seem like these devices don't work.

Are you saying that iPad would render it different then iPhone? I have no experience but I am assuming it would render it the same. |

You are talking about how your book looks in iBooks on two different devices. He's referring to the fact that different apps can be used to display ebooks on one device. |

If it is giving blank pages with iBooks, give Bluefire Reader a try and if it looks OK, then it's iBooks and we already know that iBooks has a lot of oddness built in.

Only iBooks can read that. But, you can take the DRM free copy from Smashwords and load it into iBooks and Bluefire Reader and see how it looks on both. iBooks uses it's own rendering engine that's sometimes a bit wonky and Bluefire Reader uses ADE so if it looks good there, it should look good on most eink readers that use ADE.

Denn ansonsten würde Word beim Ersetzen schreiben: ARTIKELNR. ---------- Suppose you have numbers in your text, such as M123-9876, that are always structured the same way. You may want to replace it so that the number remains, but before that the text “Article No.” appears. Then in the Find What field, type: ^ $ ^ # ^ # ^ # - ^ # ^ # ^ # ^ # and when replacing by write: Item no. ^ & The special character ^ & causes Word to re-insert the found text here, in this case the article number. It is also important that you activate the option case sensitive. Otherwise Word would write when replacing: ITEM NO. ------------- Can you do that with jutoh? The ^ & command doesn't seem to work in jutoh. Is there a solution for jutoh? |

I'm not familiar with Jutoh, however, in Calibre and Sigil, you'll need to use \1 to refer to the first match (marked by parens).

Thats it. This way (with replace: Chapter $1) it works perfectly on jutoh. Thank you so much. Another step forward for me and maybe for others. I like to work with sigil and jutoh, whichever is better and easier for me depends from case to case. In this case, what I want to do is better and easier for me with jutoh. I have no experience with regex with calibre. Last edited by famfam; 03-07-2020 at 12:14 PM. |
