Looking for someone to help with a font
I want to know if there is anyone here with either the software and/or the skill to take an italic font and make a bold-italic version out of it. The font I want to convert is Fontin Italic. I've attached it here in case anyone wants to have a go at it. Thank you!

Have you considered asking the foundry?

Looks like bold italic already exists: http://www.josbuivenga.demon.nl/fontinsans.html

Wrong version, that's Fontin Sans. Note the serifs, or near-lack thereof.
(though I'd be inclined to call that a light flare serif, myself, but what do I know?) |

Please read the exljbris EULA for their freely distributed fonts.
“The font file/software may be modified to suit design of system requirements, but strictly for your own (personal or commercial) use. You may not sell or distribute it …” In other words, even if someone made a derivative version, they couldn’t post it here. In fact, you really shouldn’t have posted the font above according to the EULA. (You can embed it in documents, but not flatly redistribute it.) |

If we had a bold-italic version of Fontin, it would be complete. Most books don't use bold-italic, but one I recently read did and it would have been nice to have the proper font.
I do hope someone can sort this out. |

Try this:
http://www.high-logic.com/fontcreator.html The trial version is free. It lets you load a font, bold it, and save it. |
