I use Amasis on my Kobo Glo HD, Lucinda on my Kindle apps, Literata in Google Play Books, and Ubuntu in Hoopla.
My favorite font is Amasis. I don't care for Bookerly but I do like Literata. Ubuntu is growing on me. There are no eInk Kindle fonts that I like which is why I own a Kobo. Sent from my XT1528 |

As a big fan of monospace fonts, I have found a new favorite for using on my Inkbook Obsidian in MoonReader Pro: Courier Code
Weight and design are perfect for me. |

My absolute favourite on e-ink, on my Kobos, is a font called Livory -- I like it so much that I keep going back to it all the time. Looks best on the high resolution displays (i.e. H2O/Aura HD resolution and up), haven't really tried on the old Glo/Aura. I also occasionally use Gentium Book Basic, Literata, Italian Old Style MT.
For my PW Bookerly is good enough for me, but I really dislike all of the other choices available, probably because I'm very finicky about margins, line-height etc. and they just don't look good to me with the Kindle's available settings. I mostly use it to read books in Japanese anyway, so it doesn't really matter... And on my tablet/phone, besides those mentioned above I also use Crimson Text, EB Garamond, Linux Libertine. |

I'm a big fan of Google's Noto serif font. But I've just discovered the font Rojarivo, a tweak of the free font Rosarivo. It's a beautiful font and the first one I've used for an extended period rather than fleeing back to Noto.
Thanks to GeoffR for optimizing it for e-ink. |

For reading, I enjoy Bookerly.
For book covers, I love Trajan. |

I find Bookerly to be a poorly made font. For an eInk Kindle, the weight is not enough. That means the contrast is not good enough. Amazon botched this by not adding more weight. The made Bookerly the default font and it's not good enough.

The font depends on the eReader in question. On the newer Kindles, I prefer the Bold Ember font. On the older ones which don't have that font, I prefer Helvetica. On my eReaders which include the ability to add fonts, it depends on whether the device allows you to make changes to the font, such as making it bolder. If they do allow the option, most fonts work for me, if not, Charis SIL Modified, or Clear Sans are my fonts of choice.

I quite agree. In fact, I think of most Amazon's fonts are far too light. The only one which works for me at all on the newer models is the bold Ember font. Thank goodness they added it, I don't know if I'd use the newer Kindles otherwise.
