What's thrLikelihood of smaller iPad soon, with phone?

I'd like to hear educated guesses on the likelihood of such a product, possible timing and price.

The iPhone already exists.....

Seriously, I just can't see a phone larger than the iPhone, being a hot item. Unless the idea of the "man purse" really catches on, only women would be able to comfortably take it everywhere....... Plus, even holding an object with even a 5" screen up to my face.... seem really odd to me....

But, heck... someone may make it, and in 5 years I may have it... who knows.

I'm thinking that Apple wants the iPhone to stay small and thin, and will let either the iPad or Touch take up the sizes in-between, for the near future.

I think their huge push advertising-wise for FaceTime (really, it IS their whole iPhone 4 campaign) is an early precursor towards moving to their own communications protocol to bypass the whole telecom "voice plan by the minute" thing.
