Kindle Software
Can anyone tell me if all kindles run the same software?
My gen 3 is getting a bit tired. Want reader with similar library view, where I can see book covers to choose what to read next (bookshelf type view). My wife has kindle keyboard and this does not do this, but does the kindle touch? If no kindles do, what readers offer this? thanks |

The Sony PRS-T1 offers a cover browser, but personally I find the text listing of the Kindle much easier to use.

The rumors point to a new Kindle this summer. Wait and see. I would like a cover browser/text browser option.

The Kindle Fire has full colour covers and cover browsing. Unfortunately, it's more of a small tablet, and less of an eReader.

Thanks for replies. I think, from what you are telling me, is that all kindle ereaders (as opposed to tablet) run the same software. That is kindle keyboard, kindle 4 and kindle touch.
Are there any 'mods' you can do to create a cover browser type view? Or should I give up and try another ereader? Is kindle the only one not to have cover browser/library view? thanks for help. |

A T1 (Sony) does have a cover browser feature and does support ePub. |
