Scarborough, Dorothy (ed): Humorous Ghost Stories (various authors). v1. 19 Jul 2021

Shivers and smiles — Ms. Scarborough chose stories intended to give both reactions to aficionados of spooky tales. Some titles, such as “The Specter Bridegroom” and “The Canterville Ghost”, will be familiar to many readers. Others are less common, and may give you a nice surprise. Her introduction amusingly discusses how ghost stories changed since the far-back dark times of yore, and is well worth a read. So dive in, and prepare to be hilariously haunted.

==========
Emily Dorothy Scarborough (January 27, 1878 – November 7, 1935) was an American writer who wrote about Texas, folk culture, cotton farming, ghost stories and women’s life in the Southwest. Her most critically acclaimed book, The Wind (first published anonymously in 1925), was later made into a film of the same name starring Lillian Gish.
