Amazon India!

Amazon KDP is now in India. That was not the next location I expected. The sales report is combined with U.S. sales. Writers have the option to be paid in rupees too!

The email: (removed dashboard links)

"Hello, We are excited to announce Kindle Direct Publishing in India!

If you have distribution rights in India for books you've published through Kindle Direct Publishing, they are now available in the Kindle store for India (sold to customers in India on Amazon.com). The list prices for titles sold in India are currently identical to those you've chosen for the Amazon.com store.

If you would like to review or change your preferences or pricing for each title sold in India, you can visit your KDP Bookshelf

Titles sold in India will appear in your Amazon.com sales reports. You can visit your sales reports

You also now have the option to receive royalty payments in Indian Rupees (INR) for sales on Amazon.com. If you would like to review or change your payment preferences, you can do so on your KDP Account Page:

Also, be sure to check out the India Kindle Store press release: http://phx.corporate-ir.net/phoenix....519&highlight=

Thanks for your continued interest in Amazon KDP! Sincerely, Kindle Direct Publishing Team"

This is a massively exciting prospect for all authors/publishers. Tapping into the wealth (as in prospective readers) of India is a huge step forward for all interested in e-books.
