book converted to mobi takes 5 minutes to open
I have an ebook that I converted to mobi that takes about 5 minutes to open on my PC(there is no problem opening it on the kindle). The epub opens almost instantaneously on my PC.

Dont open MOBIs with the calibre viewer. They are always going to be slow. Use EPUB or AZW3.

Since you have a Kindle, you're probably familiar with "Kindle for PC", but in case you're not: It's free and it's fast. It opened the Hazlitt MOBI (over 4MB) in about 3 seconds. Marty |
