BSG Producer Shopping Around 'Outlander' TV series
http://io9.com/5926841/ron-moore-wil...into-a-tv-show
This series doesn't much look like my cup of tea, but then I didn't think I'd be into Game of Thrones before it aired, either, and ended up loving it (I think Peter Dinklage had a lot to do with that). I'm not sure how much magic gets involved beyond the "Oops, I slipped through a time-henge!" premise. |

It sounds like a good fit at LIFETIME--they've been experimenting a bit over the past few years with non-traditional fare: BLOOD TIES, AGAINST THE WALL, etc.

Eh, I can't say that this is something that interests me too terribly much. Good on them for trying to adapt novel series to live-action, though. Even if it's not for me.

Yeah, when I saw this, my first thought was that this was a strange fit for Ron Moore. These books are historical romance. There is no fantasy/scifi element besides the portal.
My second thought was that if he thought sci-fi fans included a significant percentage of entitled, nitpicky, impossible to please fans, he is in for an unpleasant surprise if he thinks the romance crowd is any better. (And they are far less savvy, as a group, about the realities of adaptation and TV production.) |
