Depends which part of Scotland you live in.
Up north, and in Glasgow, you get offered salt and vinegar. In Edinburgh (and surrounding areas) they offer you 'salt and 'sauce'. 'Sauce' is a mixture of 50% brown sauce and 50% vinegar. I have rarely been faced with a more disgusting prospect in my life. Also, their white pudding is wrong (I think they put barley in it or something equally inappropriate). Of course, in Scotland they would never ask you if you wanted chips with it, you would either order a supper or not. So there. |
