Or maybe the illustrations are different between UK and US versions? The covers seem to be.

That explains why the US version is cheaper - it has distracting illustrations.

Like that you can push it to B&N account. That will make it very convenient.

So what is the price difference? I'm in Australia and I get the English versions (thank goodness!) and the price for the full set is US$61.34 or 38.64 pounds.
Has anyone downloaded the Complete Harry Potter collection yet? Is it 7 separate books or 1 ebook containing all of them? Last edited by HarleyB; 03-27-2012 at 09:00 AM. |

They offer free samples so you can see which version you're getting and how it looks.
If you do the direct download, you get a maximum of 7 d/ls. If you link to a third-party system, it counts as one of those downloads. So you could d/l the epub and link to Amazon to get it onto Whispersync. They explicitly say you can lend the book to your (under 18) kids. Basically, the terms of service are fairly liberal. (Not quite as customer-friendly as Multi-format Fictionwise or BAEN, but possitively radical compared to the BPHs.) Color me pleasantly surprised. |

I went ahead and just bought them all separate. It's only about $10 more in the US to get them separately. I'd be interested to know, though.

And for those dreaming that Rowling would marginalize Kindle users (yeah, riiiight!):

(Don't take it out on me...) They are cheaper if you buy from Amazon. (For a Change, Amazon is the Affiliate to their partner.) Sorceror's Stone: $6.39 Chamber of Secrets: $5.99 Prisoner of Azkhaban: $5.79 Goblet of Fire: $6.98 Order of the Phoenix: $7.11 Half-blood Prince: $7.01 Deathly Hallows: $7.99 Total: $47.26 Your prices will likely vary. Edit: And the prices *have* varied. Up to full list price, now. Somebody must've whined. Last edited by fjtorres; 03-27-2012 at 11:27 AM. |

In the UK the seven books as a bundle are £38.64. I can get the signature edition box set (new) from Amazon for £34.79. The individual titles are £4.99/£6.99. I can buy the paper versions as individual books for about the same — a few for a little less ,a few for a little more.
Something's not right about those figures! But even so, I suspect that there will be an awful lot of copies sold in the next few days. |

Despite the high prices (sigh), my copy of "Harry Potter and the Unauthorised Ebook" has guilted me into buying the set.
Buying the set just gets you the individual ebooks on your pottermore bookshelf. It isn't an omnibus volume, but the seven separate books. |
